Now who wouldn’t want to be an award-winning blogger? Though I’ve received many awards in my life but to get one for my blog ‘Glam Adventuress’ that too from someone who is already a known brand, rather among the Alma maters of fashion and designing is what made this one special. So one afternoon I was approached by INIFD (International Institute Of Fashion Designing) saying that their jury had shortlisted ‘Glam Adventuress’ for the Style Icon Awards 2019. I was quite ecstatic as getting recognised for something you are passionate about is so exciting, isnt’t it?
A couple of days later I was invited to the award ceremony and it was all about style, awards, glitz and glamour. The awards were presented to the prestigious list of professionals who had made the most outstanding contribution to the fashion industry while working in their own field. The chief guest was none other than the very famous Bollywood fashion designer and Big Boss fame Imam Siddique.
For those who don’t know me here’s a brief introduction about me and my blog Glam Adventuress: I am Navneet, an Army Wife, Gold Medalist in English Literature, an Educator and a Travel, Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger. I’m married to Sandeep who’s an Aviator, flies helicopters and is the man behind the amazing photographs that you see! I started my blog two years ago with an aim to share our travel adventures, misadventures and to help people plan affordable luxury travel with fashion and lifestyle tips. Both of us are passionate about travelling in style and with our perseverance and dedication, we have made Glam Adventuress a well known blog growing at an exponential rate.
I was mesmerised by the show and the hardwork student designers had put into it. The designers from INIFD have showcased their talent at the Lakme Fashion Week as well. They had designed some incredible pieces which the supermodels showcased on the ramp putting it on fire. I feel the budding designers should get the acknowledgement and appreciation from everyone. Since I got the opportunity to see it live, I thought to share a glimpse of the rocking show with you all.
The collections were inspired by environment, weaving techniques, art, cities and by gone eras. Here’s a list of all the fabulous designers and their work: Collection Mughals was by designers Shalu Borana and Pooja, Coral reef by Bhavika Jethwani, Moroccan by Prerna, Blue Pottery by Lakshita, Himasha and Jamna, Thapa Art by Sangeeta Aidasani, Ethnic Blossom by Yamini, Paint the town Lavender by Neetu and Dhanraj, Bandhini by Pranjal and Bhanupriya, Enliven Eve by Jigyasa and Savita, Metropoolitan by Kishan, Seema and Farzan, Opal by Divyani and Divya, Greenery Plaid by Shruti and Jaishree, Boho girl in a glamorous world by Alisha Khan, Impact of our deeds by Kavita, Simran and Rucheeta, Byzantine Look by Neelam, Nitisha and Nischala and Beyond the Sky by Ayushi and Harshita.
In addition to the fashion show, the entertainment program was beautifully organised by team INIFD to include dance performances. The show was choreographed by renowned fashion stylist Abhimanyu Singh Tomar, compered by RJ Rex from 94.3 My FM. Overall, it was a night to remember showcasing talents to be appreciated and gave us the moments to cherish in times to come.
Until then
